When you’re asked to transform the powder room into a birdcage—

LAYER 1. Antique Blond Barr limestone floor from France (via Paris Ceramics) below and a custom designed bell vault plaster ceiling fabricated by Hyde Park Moulding.

LAYER 2. Bob Christian Decorative Art painted monochromatic panoramic landscape walls & ceiling.

LAYER 3. John Earle fabricated the painted wood millwork “cage” with curved corner pilasters and woven brass grilles.

LAYER 4. Randy Claggett (Castle Studio Stained Glass) hand painted kiln-fired clear glass panels that was then leaded together with an ochre stained glass border. He also created the pilaster panels, created from overlapping Tiffany Blue glass rondels.

LAYER 5. A Sherle Wagner brown onyx shell sink with P.E. Guerin Bird Basin taps in unlacquered brass; unlacquered brass Forbes & Lomax toggle switches; Kohler toilet.
